Wheelsure - Patently new

Wheelsure Limited is a brand new company established in 2003 to market a patented technology that will prevent wheel nuts loosening and consequential wheel loss on commercial vehicles. This serious issue has been a constant source of difficulty for fleet operators and Wheelsure is 100% confident that its wheel nut locking device will be the answer.

The company has been formed by three individuals who have extensive knowledge of the PSV market as they all worked together at EvoBus (UK) Ltd - a division of Daimler Chrysler and Europe's no. 1 in the bus and coach market. Gerhard Dodl is the chief executive responsible for establishing this new business, along with Jim Shuttleworth and Karen Bayliss. Dodl explains, “It is very exciting to launch a new company in such an interesting and challenging market. Safety is of course the number one priority for any operator and we are confident that our unique new product represents a significant breakthrough in this vital area.”

Dodl, 41 - who has taken the position of chief executive officer - was previously general manager, finance and administration for EvoBus (UK) Ltd; he has also worked all over the world in previous roles for Goldschmidt UK Limited, Thermit Australia Pty Limited and in Deutsche Bank.

Joining Dodl is Wheelsure's new chairman Jim Shuttleworth, who has recently retired as general manager of Evobus (UK) Limited. Shuttleworth has an impressive 27 years experience of working in the bus and coach market, including 22 years with EvoBus (UK) Ltd. Completing the team is Karen Bayliss, who takes the position of operations manager and who brings with her over 15 years of general management and consultancy experience.

Dodl says: "We are currently trialling the product with two major UK fleets and will be launching it at the beginning of the New Year.”
