Wheelsure ‘Highly Commended’ at Vehicles & Plant Awards
Wheelsure’s innovative wheel nut locking device has been voted the best ‘Technical Development’ of 2005 at the UK Bus Awards. Gerhard Dodl, Wheelsure’s Chief Executive Officer was presented with a trophy by Steve Rooney, Editor of Bus & Coach Professional, sponsors of the award and Peter Hendy of Transport for London at a special lunch on 9th November.

John Owen, Chairman of the UK Bus Awards explained: “Wheelsure is a natural winner for the Technical Category. The potential risks of loosing a wheel in terms of finance, enforcement action and reputation are considerable and the consequences would be catastrophic. As well as creating a fantastic product that puts minds at ease, Wheelsure has also demonstrated high standards of customer service and after sales care.”

“We are thrilled to have won this top technical award” said Dodl, “We know we have a good product, but to have it confirmed in front of the industry’s top people, at the UK Bus Oscars is just fantastic. Maybe this will now encourage operators to talk more openly about this issue which cannot be prevented by maintenance alone.”

Wheelsure, who beat 3 other short-listed companies to win the award, now has two products on offer, one suitable for OEM application and a second specifically designed for the retro-fit market. Further product development is currently underway and a new version of the device will be available early next year.
