Clarkes
buys peace of mind from Wheelsure
Clarkes of London (Coaches) Ltd has ordered 15 complete sets
of Wheelsure Ltd’s new wheel nut locking device. The
devices are to be fitted to their new intake of 15 Scania
K114-1B vehicles, to be delivered during April.
Mrs Deborah V Newman, managing director
of Clarkes of London explains: “We as a company have
always been at the forefront of safety issues and I believe
that this addition to our vehicles will add substantially
to our commitment to safety.” She continues: “The
service and maintenance schedules on our own vehicles are
of the highest standard and we do stress that as a company
we have not previously experienced nut loosening problems,
but we cannot and will not take chances. We are aware that
there is a major problem with this issue within the industry
and, as a responsible operator, such a system must add to
safety and security.”
Wheelsure’s patented wheel safety
device uses a modified wheel stud along with a counter-threaded
locking cap that covers the wheel nut and holds it in place.
In the event of the nut coming undone, the left hand threaded
locking cap will immediately start to tighten against the
nut, ensuring that it will not come off.
