Win
a free trial with Wheelsure at CIWM!
Revolutionary technology that will help save lives is being
brought to the CIWM Exhibition by Wheelsure Ltd. Exhibiting
for the first time this year, Wheelsure can be found in the
Education and Technology Centre at Preston Green on stand
219, where they will be demonstrating their patented wheel
nut locking device.
Visitors to the stand will be able to enter
a competition to win a free trial of the product, simply by
completing a short questionnaire. Animated presentations produced
especially for Wheelsure by Bolt Science and SE Systems will
also be on display. Bolt Science explores the factors that
contribute to wheel nut loosening and the effects of vibration,
demonstrated on a Junker machine; SE Systems presents the
results of bolt testing that clearly explains how clamping
force, and therefore wheel security, is lost on bolts that
have been used, corroded or damaged.
Gerhard Dodl, chief executive officer of
Wheelsure, explains: “Wheel loss is an issue that we
hear of almost every week and we have seen examples of even
the best maintained fleets suffering from wheel nuts loosening.
This is a particular concern for those operating waste vehicles
and tippers. Our product has gone through some rigorous testing
which proves it to be highly durable, and makes it ideal for
use on these types of vehicles. We are 100% confident that
our product will prevent this problem.”
The device takes the form of a modified
wheel stud and counter-threaded locking cap; the locking cap
covers the wheel nut, holding it in place. In the event of
the wheel nut attempting to loosen, the left hand threaded
locking cap tightens. This means that there will be no further
loosening of the wheel nut, which could prevent the potentially
fatal loss of a wheel.
